desert flowers

This piece is truly near and dear to me, as it was one of the first pieces I painted on my watercolor journey from a seed of my own artistic idea. Hiking in the desert in the winter, the dried out flowers and plants throughout the trail create an amber meadow that inhibits a warmth, even in the dead of winter. This painting was the first “trail bouquet” I painted, stemming from the place I call home.
